Fondeo Funded Accounts — Complete Guide

Complete guide to Fondeo funded accounts: trading rules, profit splits, mandatory withdrawals, scaling plan, risk management, and account breach scenarios.

Once you pass your evaluation, you receive a funded account. This page covers everything you need to know: what changes from evaluation, how profits and payouts work, risk management rules, the scaling plan, and what happens if your account is breached.

1. What Changes from Evaluation

Funded accounts have different rules from evaluation phases:

  • No profit target — there is no percentage you need to reach. You trade freely and keep your profits.
  • No time limit — there is no deadline. You can trade for as long as you want.
  • No minimum trading days — you are not required to trade a specific number of days.
  • No consistency rule — the 40% profit distribution rule does not apply to funded accounts.
  • No minimum win rate — the 50% win rate requirement from evaluation does not apply.

2. Risk Management Rules (Still Apply)

All risk management rules remain active on funded accounts. Breaking any of these results in account closure.

Daily Drawdown Limit

The maximum your account can lose in a single day, calculated from the highest equity point reached during that day (trailing).

| Challenge Origin | Daily Drawdown Limit | |-----------------|---------------------| | One-Step | 4% of initial balance | | Two-Step | 5% of initial balance | | Subscription | 4% of initial balance |

Maximum Loss (Max Drawdown)

The total overall loss allowed, measured from the initial account balance. Your equity (including unrealized P&L from open positions) must never fall below this floor.

| Challenge Origin | Max Loss | Equity Floor | |-----------------|----------|-------------| | One-Step | 6% | 94% of initial balance | | Two-Step | 10% | 90% of initial balance | | Subscription | 5% | 95% of initial balance |

Stop-Loss Requirement

Every trade must have a stop-loss. This is mandatory and monitored in real time.

  • You have 5 minutes from opening a trade to set the stop-loss.
  • The stop-loss must be placed using the TP/SL function (Stop Loss or Trailing Stop Loss on Bybit). Conditional orders or limit close orders are not valid.
  • Always edit your stop-loss, never cancel it. Removing a stop-loss counts as a violation.
  • First violation: Soft breach warning — you have 1 hour to fix it. This grace is available only once per account.
  • Second violation: Your account is permanently closed with no appeal.

Maximum Risk Per Trade

You should not risk more than 3% of your initial account balance on any single trade. A triggered stop-loss must not result in a loss greater than 3%.

Minimum Order Size

Each trade must have a minimum value of 5% of your initial account balance.

Maximum Exposure

  • Total risk across all open positions: Maximum 25% of initial balance
  • Total open position value: Maximum 2x initial balance (cumulative notional value)

Example: For a $50,000 funded account, the total value of all open positions cannot exceed $100,000.

Minimum Trades Per Active Day

If you trade on a given day, you must place at least 3 trades for it to count as a valid trading day.

Daily Activity Range

Your daily P&L must fall outside the -1% to +1% range for the day to count as an active trading day.

3. Profit Split

You earn a share of the profits you generate on your funded account. The split depends on your challenge type and how long you've been funded.

Regular Challenges (One-Step & Two-Step)

| Time Funded | Profit Split | |------------|-------------| | Month 0–4 | 70% | | Month 4–8 | 75% | | Month 8–12 | 80% | | Month 12–16 | 85% | | Month 16+ | 90% (maximum) |

Your profit split increases by 5% every 4 months, starting at 70% and capping at 90%.

Subscription Challenges

| Time Funded | Profit Split | |------------|-------------| | Month 0–4 | 50% | | Month 4–8 | 55% | | Month 8–12 | 60% | | Month 12–16 | 65% | | Month 16+ | 70% (maximum) |

Subscription funded accounts start at 50% and cap at 70%, with the same 5% increase every 4 months.

4. Payout Rules — The 5% Mandatory Withdrawal Cap

Fondeo enforces a mandatory withdrawal system. You cannot accumulate profits freely — once your account reaches +5% profit, you are required to request a withdrawal.

| Rule | Detail | |------|--------| | Max profit per payout | 5% of initial balance | | Withdrawal obligation | You must withdraw when you reach 5% profit | | Penalty for not withdrawing | Any profit above 5% is not paid — it's forfeited | | Minimum payout | $100 profit (after the profit split) | | First payout eligibility | 1 calendar day after your first funded trade | | Payout method | USDT or USDC | | Processing time | 12–48 hours | | Withdrawal fees | None | | Challenge fee refund | Refunded with your first profit split (One-Step and Two-Step only — does not apply to Subscription) |

What This Means in Practice

You cannot "let it ride." Once your account reaches +5% profit, you are required to request a withdrawal. You cannot keep compounding gains beyond that point.

Excess profit is lost. If you continue trading past the 5% mark without withdrawing, Fondeo will not pay the additional profit beyond 5%.

Example on a $100,000 account:

  • You reach +$7,000 (7%) without withdrawing
  • You only get paid on $5,000 (5%) × your profit split (e.g., 70%) = $3,500
  • The extra $2,000 is forfeited

After withdrawal, your balance resets. Your account balance returns to the initial balance, and you start accumulating again toward the next 5% cap.

Effective Maximum Payout Per Cycle

Combined with the profit split, your effective maximum payout per cycle is:

| Profit Split | Effective Max Payout (per cycle) | |-------------|----------------------------------| | 50% (subscription start) | 2.5% of initial balance | | 70% (regular start / subscription max) | 3.5% of initial balance | | 75% | 3.75% of initial balance | | 80% | 4.0% of initial balance | | 85% | 4.25% of initial balance | | 90% (regular max) | 4.5% of initial balance |

Fondeo's model is designed around frequent, small withdrawals (up to 5% at a time) rather than allowing traders to compound.

5. Scaling Plan

Successful funded traders can grow their account over time:

  • Scaling frequency: Every 4 months, if you meet profitability goals
  • Account increase per scale-up: 25% of current balance
  • Maximum individual account size: $1,000,000 USDT
  • Total capital across all active accounts: Cannot exceed $200,000

6. Prohibited Actions

The following strategies and behaviors remain strictly prohibited on funded accounts:

  • Martingale strategy — doubling down after losses is not allowed
  • Cross-account hedging — you cannot open opposite positions across different accounts you own
  • Low-cap altcoin restriction — trading low-cap altcoins (market cap below $100M or 24h volume below $5M) using more than 5% of your initial balance is restricted
  • Bots and automated trading — all trades must be placed and managed manually
  • News trading — avoid opening or modifying positions during high-impact economic announcements

7. Allowed Strategies

The following are permitted on funded accounts:

  • Scalping — quick in-and-out trades
  • Overnight and weekend positions — you can hold trades across days and weekends
  • Any technical indicators — use whatever analysis tools you prefer

8. Account Inactivity

If your funded account has no trading activity for 90 consecutive days, it may be closed. Stay active to keep your account open.

9. Account Breach & Recovery

What Happens to Profits

| Scenario | What happens | |----------|-------------| | Demo live account breach | All unrequested profits are lost | | Bybit sub-account breach | You can request payout of remaining profit before account closure |

Soft Breach vs Hard Breach

  • Soft breach (stop-loss only): First time you fail to set a stop-loss, you get a warning email and 1 hour to fix it. This grace is available only once per account.
  • Hard breach: Breaking any drawdown limit, max loss limit, or a second stop-loss violation results in immediate and permanent account closure.
  • Accounts are manually reviewed for signs of gambling or reckless "all-or-nothing" behavior. Fondeo reserves the right to restrict accounts showing these patterns.

10. KYC Requirements

  • KYC (identity verification) is not required to start or pass challenges
  • KYC is required before trading on a funded account with real capital

11. Supported Platforms

  • Bybit — you can use the Bybit platform to place and manage your trades
  • Terminal — Fondeo's own trading platform, built for full control over positions, risk management, and real-time monitoring

MT4, MT5, and TradingView direct execution are not supported.
